A+X #15 Review by (October 26, 2022)

Review: First story is another comic romp starring two heroes who bicker constantly; seems like there a formula for this sort of thing. Anyway, it’s all rather amusing as these things tend to be. Oh, and this generic review goes to issue #15, with Dr. Strange and Beast, is case you don’t know where you are. Part three of the Cap/Cyclops team-up benefits from having more space to work with, the introduction of Bryson’s Bisons restaurant chain as a secret Skrull business venture is quite amusing as is the sudden appearance of Ant-Man. I also want to see that Doctor Doom video backed by “Yakety Sax” (the Benny Hill theme). And I think that if I wanted to have an LMD handy, one based on Steve Rogers would be ideal.

Comments: Second story: Part three of six. The page announcing the next issue features the cover for issue #17.

A+X #15 Synopsis by Peter Silvestro

SHIELD summons Dr. Henry McCoy, the Beast, to the scene of a bizarre incident at a yoga studio in Greenwich Village. They arrive to discover Doctor Strange is already there. They enter to discover the students in some sort of levitating trance, which Strange identifies as magic but Beast claims is alien. They find a yoga spell book written in Shi’ar directing them to the Dark Dimension. They head to that dimension separately and encounter Doctor McCoy, Sorcerer Supreme, and Professor S of the Strange Men who are seeking Dormammu’s Crown to stop the yoga singularity threatening all universes—except that they have to destroy Earth-616 to do so. Strange and Beast seize the crown and teleport back to their own world separately. Comparing notes they conclude that the culprit behind it all must be the Impossible Man. They confront Impy in his own dimension and demand that he close the portal and free the humans—or they will sic on him the Stranges and McCoys of all the parallel worlds. It is done and they journey back home, still arguing about magic versus alien technology.

Synopsis: Captain America and Cyclops return to the secret SHIELD safe house in the Las Vegas casino, bearing the dead Skrull. The Steve Rogers LMD informs them that their battle with Doctor Doom (last issue) has been posted to the internet. As the heroes despair over their dead investigation, the LMD informs them that the Skrull is still alive, having moved his heart before Doom shot him. The Skrull, K’Tan, tells them he can take them to a Skrull safe house where they can get a lead on Cadre K but first he wants a Bison Burger. Cap and Cyke decide to call in some help….

At Bryson’s Bisons, Cap and Cyke sit with K’Tan, disguised as the Vision, as he enjoys a Bison Burger. Cyclops’ help arrives: Emma Frost and the Stepford Cuckoos, who gush over Cap while making fun of his age. Bryson, the restaurant’s owner, greets them and Emma reveals that the restaurant is the Skrull safe house and all of the employees Skrulls with K’tav was hoping they would rescue him from the heroes. A battle breaks out with the Skrulls unleashing a huge laser gun which is sabotaged by Cap’s secret ally Ant-Man. Emma immobilizes all of the Skrulls and Cap asks politely if she would stay for the rest of the mission as a Skrull psychic is involved and she agrees. Ant-Man (Hank Pym) examines the bison burgers and discovers that they contain mutated Skrull DNA. Cap suspects a biological attack on America by Cadre K and suggests they investigate the farm where the cattle were grown….
