Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes II #2 Review by (March 24, 2020)

Review: So, SHIELD is suspicious of the Vision: they are the ones who created Life Model Decoys and they can’t tolerate a synthezoid? Maybe that’s why, since it isn’t unusual for an LMD to go rogue but Jasper Sitwell takes it over the top. It’s a good thing Vision doesn’t have emotions or he’d punch SHIELD’s lights out. The other odd bit is Black Panther needing a secret identity as if being a superhero and ruling a nation didn’t already take up a lot of his time. Why? So he can teach African American teenagers to take pride in their heritage. I dunno, seems like there would be an easier way to reach more than just the random ninth graders in a portion of a single history class (is he also teaching them about Europe and Asia?) for a semester.

Comments: Issues #1-4 take place immediately after the events of AVENGERS #58.

Vision has been arrested by SHIELD and is taken to the HQ where he angers Jasper Sitwell by descending through the floor, bypassing the barber chair….

Back at Avengers Mansion, Goliath complains to Captain America about the incident; Cap suggests calm but Hank pulls rank as Avengers Chairman and demands Cap set up a meeting with Nick Fury….

Vision describes his creation by Ultron-5 to destroy the Avengers and his rebellion and current attempts to find his place in the world. SHIELD scientists scan Vision and determine that he is not the Super-Adaptoid. Sitwell tries to intimidate Vision by suggesting “he” is not fit to be a hero….

In his new identity as Luke Charles, Black Panther takes charge of a world history class at a Harlem high school, trying to inspire the kids with a knowledge of their place in the world but also becoming aware of a bullied kid named Delroy….

Meanwhile, various Wakandans who resent T’Challa’s opening the nation up to the outside world are gathering to take action….

Hawkeye and Black Widow, romantically involved, split up over his commitment to the Avengers and her being a SHIELD Agent….

Goliath, Wasp, and Black Panther meet with Nick Fury at Avengers Mansion. The meeting is tense from the start but when Hawkeye arrives, the confrontation becomes loud and bitter.
