Avengers: The Origin #3 Review by (September 6, 2015)
Review: In this update to the classic AVENGERS #1, we have much more detail on how Iron Man, Wasp, and Ant-Man located the Hulk and how they were planning to capture him (quickly glossed over in the original). Even better are the scenes of the depressed Hulk finding comfort from an all-new character, Bea the Bearded Lady, who sympathizes with the bug guy’s plight. In the original, the circus spectators thought the super-battle was part of the show; here it is much more threatening and dramatic with the fleeing crowds. Best of all: Hulk blows away his tiny enemies with his breath and not with a suspiciously handy bellows (yes, that’s in the original).

Avengers: The Origin #3 Synopsis by Peter Silvestro

In Texas, Tony Stark coordinates the search for the Hulk, while contacting Mr Fantastic for advice….

Meanwhile, Thor crosses the Rainbow Bridge to Asgard, welcomed by Heimdall the guardian….

That afternoon the circus debuts its newest attraction, Mechano the Robot Clown—actually the Hulk, hiding in plain sight. His circus pals are worried that Hulk is not happy—and that an angry Hulk is something to fear….

With the Stark-boosted power of his helmet, Ant-Man is able to get word of the Hulk’s whereabouts from his network of ants. Behind the scenes, a weary and bitter Hulk rests from the day’s labors; ants undermine the ground and Hulk drops into a huge hole. With the help of the carnies, Hulk escapes but he is being swarmed over by ants and he flies into a rage, rampaging though the crowded circus tent. Ant-Man and Wasp appeal to him to stop but he literally blows them away with his voice. Iron Man challenges him and the battle is on….

In Asgard, Thor boats across the fabled Sea of Mists but his craft is pulled under the water by a tentacled monster. As Loki regrets making Thor’s end so quick, the God of Thunder rises from the water and confronts the God of Evil….
