Synopsis / Summary / Plot

Captain America: White #5 Synopsis by Peter Silvestro

In Paris, 1941, Captain America challenges the Red Skull, who is holding Bucky Barnes hostage and threatening to destroy the city. The Living Legend ramps his motorcycle up the Eiffel Tower and rams his fist into the Skull’s face atop his dirigible….

Back at the Louvre, the Howling Commandos and the French Resistance team are the captives of Baron Strucker and the Nazis. They have been betrayed by one of their own, Olivier Batroc; when the traitor learns that the city will still be destroyed he assaults Strucker and is shot down. That is the signal for the Americans and French to turn on their enemies and overpower them….

Cap punches the Red Skull so that he falls through a tear in the dirigible’s skin with his bombs. As the airship explodes, Cap grabs Bucky and dives for safety. Nick Fury informs him that the threat to the city is over and Resistance leader Marilyne rewards him with a kiss. Cap and Bucky head along to their next adventure….

Epilogue: After his revival, Nick Fury takes Cap to Arlington Cemetery to see the monuments raised in memory of Captain America and Bucky. Cap destroys his own statue and takes off, mourning his lost pal….
