Years later, Magnus marries Magda and they have a child,
Anya. When the neighbors learn he is a mutant they burn his apartment, killing
Anya. He takes a violent reaction against the mob and Madga, terrified, flees
from him; she is pregnant with twins….
A year later, he is romantically involved with Susanne Dane,
an American sympathizer with the mutant cause. When he learns she is pregnant,
he insists she return to safety in the USA and never see him again….
In New York, scientist Bolivar Trask creates the Sentinels,
a model of robot designed to hunt down and eliminate mutants….
In Egypt, Magnus, now calling himself Magneto, meets
Apocalypse and joins his cause, fighting for mutants. Soon the two have a
falling out over Apocalypse’s approval of atrocities against the humans and
Magneto challenges him to fight. Apocalypse anticipates an easy victory as he
has made sure no metal exists in the camp but Magneto reveals that the brain is
an electro-magnetic field and so he tears Apoc’s head apart, nonfatally. Then a
fleet of Sentinels is seen approaching; instead of hiding, Magneto takes them
on and destroys them. He announces to the world through a group of TV reporters
that, as the world has declared war on the mutants, the mutants now declare war
on the world. This TV broadcast is seen all over the world: by Pietro and Wanda Maximoff
in Transia, by Lorna Dane in California, and in New York by Professor Charles Xavier….
