In Asgardia, Odin and Freyja talk over the many changes coming lately (Thor becoming unworthy and the discovery of Angela). Especially worrisome is Evil Loki, the future self of the familiar God of Mischief; Freyja explains how Evil Loki gives all of them security that a glorious future lies ahead—for all but Loki himself. This means that the optimistic young Loki is doomed to never change. Odin considers her scheme unwise….
In Latveria, Doctor Doom has trapped young Loki in a cube of solidified time. While Doom is supervising the removal of the cube to his art room, young Valeria Richards tells the invisible Verity Willis to come out of hiding (she has experience with detecting invisible people, you know). Valeria explains to Verity that Doom saw the future and it had been destroyed by Loki….
Doom learns that rioting and violence have swept his land and he commands his people to stop but he suddenly has visions of being mocked by the Fantastic Four. He detects the psychic wave of hate and sees the Red Skull behind it. A mysterious figure arrives at the castle door and with a wave of his hand destroys the Doombot guards….
Verity convinces Valeria to release Loki as there is no absolute future to prevent. A confused Loki is released but Verity doesn’t need him, just Gram, the Sword of Truth. The God of Mischief plunges the sword into a huge glowing ball and a truth wave goes out, destroying the hate wave. Doom is himself again and peace returns to his kingdom. Doom and Loki are now in a stalemate but the mysterious visitor reveals himself as Magneto, come to recruit the two of them to battle the Red Skull….
