Mighty Avengers, The #3 Review by (March 3, 2015)
This Henry Pym is a Skrull. But #17 will reveal that this is our 1st sighting of a new Skrull in the job, after the previous encumbent suffered a mental breakdown. That previous Skrull was 1 of the leaders of the pro-Registration forces in Civil War. The previous Skrull was named Criti Noll, but because the new Skrull has to take the previous 1's memories he gets called Criti Noll 2. This is nearly the 1st sighting of Tigra after Civil War (in the Registration side and as a spy within the Resistance camp). But the Official Index puts her flashback appearances in New Avengers #35 before this, because there she is in New York resisting an Initiative posting to another part of the country. It *is* the 1st time we have seen the revival of her relationship with Pym. They had an affair in the early issues of West Coast Avengers. She'll be with him again at Camp Hammond in Avengers: Initiative #6. Mole Man will keep returning as a sort-of villain. His latest sighting is as 1 of the bearers of Mandarin's Rings in Iron Man (2013) #25-28.

Synopsis / Summary / Plot

Mighty Avengers, The #3 Synopsis by Rob Johnson
The world is experiencing extreme weather conditions, which here in New York takes the form of heavy rain. Meanwhile the rest of the Mighty Avengers are facing Ultron in the form of a woman created by morphing Iron Man. The woman is modelled on Wasp, and she seems willing to talk to Janet Van Dyne. She admits to causing the bad weather and other disasters.

Team Leader Ms Marvel orders a retreat while Ares the War God devises a tactical plan. Sentry offers to stay to keep Ultron occupied, because he seems immune to her lightning bolts, unlike Ares. Carol Danvers agrees but reminds him they'd like to get Tony Stark back if possible, so don't throw Ultron into the Sun (which is what he did with his arch-foe the Void at the end of his latest mini-series). Wonder Man offers to stay too but MsM overrides him.

Cue 4 pages of Sentry and the Ultron-woman pummelling each other. Ultron knows Bob Reynolds is her most dangerous opponent so she tries to persuade him to leave Earth and go live in peace somewhere else in the universe.

Ms Marvel and Wonder Man fly Ares and Black Widow to the SHIELD helicarrier and Wasp gets there under her own steam. Jan tries to phone for ex-husband Henry Pym for help with his creation.

Hank Pym is at the Initiative training site Camp Hammond. He's ignoring his phone because he's making out with Tigra. Until soldiers break his door down to tell him his ex-wife needs him.

Back at the helicarrier SHIELD scientists are examining energy Ms Marvel absorbed from Ultron. Wasp is clinging to the idea that her old friend Tony Stark is still alive inside Ultron, but Ares is convinced he's gone.

Meanwhile Sentry and Ultron are still at it. But it doesn't stop the computer-brained robot from simultaneously taking control of the helicarrier and bringing it plummetting down on top of them.

Sentry flies up to stop its fall but only succeeds in significantly slowing it. Until he's joined by Ms Marvel and Wonder Man, and the 3 of them fly it to the relatively safe crash site of the Long Island Expressway.

Maria Hill has been knocked out.  Her boss Tony Stark is obviously not available. And there are no other level 10 agents on board to take command of the helicarrier. Except of course Black Widow. Natasha Romanoff immediately takes charge.

Ms Marvel, Sentry and Wonder Man fly back to the site of the recent battle, but Ultron has gone. All they find is Mole Man weeping over his disintegrated monsters. Widow sends some SHIELD troops to arrest him for his attack last issue. Hank Pym is helicoptered in to the helicarrier.

But someone else arrives too. It is Iron Man's original grey armour with a recorded message from its creator (in the event of his death).
