Rampaging Hulk, The #1 Review by (February 15, 2010)
This series takes place early in the Hulk’s career. There is a house ad inside for this title that was also made into a promotional poster. This is a very standard Hulk vs. the army story with several throwback moments including a pensive Betty, a worried Talbot, and the Hulk leaping through the desert after escaping the US Army. ~ Peter Kowalchick

Synopsis / Summary / Plot

Rampaging Hulk, The #1 Synopsis by Peter Kowalchick
General "Thunderbolt" Ross and Major Glenn Talbot are showing a history of the Hulk to a group of military leaders and receive a call that Bruce Banner is working as a janitor at the Brand Corporation in Chicago. That company has a Gamma Accelerator that Bruce hopes to use to cure him of the Hulk. He thinks of his tortured past and becomes agitated and must calm himself so he does not become the Hulk. At the same time, Major Talbot is saying good-bye to his wife Betty Ross. General Ross arrives and he and Talbot leave to go “Hulkbusting”.

Bruce uses the Gamma Accelerator to adverse affect. As Ross and Talbot arrive, a further mutated Gamma-altered Banner attacks them. Banner is caught between Hulk and Banner transformations.  The Banner/Hulk is subdued by a group of soldiers and imprisoned beneath Gamma Base. While caged, the duel personas continue to vie for control of Banner’s body and mind. The Hulk eventually emerges victorious after much struggle and breaks free from the prison, escaping by leaping through the desert. Ross and Talbot prepare to counter attack as the Hulk escapes.

Story #2

Outsiders

Writer: Glenn Greenberg. Penciler: Denys Cowan. Inker: Tom Palmer.

Synopsis / Summary / Plot

In Billings, MT, a studious high school student named Stillwell is being attacked by a football player named Brad, nicknamed “Hulk”, also on the back of his jersey. Brad slaps him around while his girlfriend Jennifer protests. A loud thunder is heard off in the distance. The other students around Brad run away but he is too busy picking on Stillwell to notice the real Hulk behind him. Hulk asks him why he picked on the smaller boy. Brad says he did it because Stillwell is an outcast and a freak. This angers the Hulk, as he also feels that humans consider him an outcast and freak. Hulk leaps away in disgust after letting Brad flee in terror.
