Silver Surfer/Warlock: Resurrection #1 Review by (February 18, 2022)
Among some generic monsters we specifically see the old favourite Tricephalous from Fantastic Four #1, last seen in Warlock & Infinity Watch #7, and the more elusive Skreeal only previously seen in FF#347-348.

We still haven't learned who's got the Reality Gem. (It's Thanos.)

Since her involvement during Infinity War with Thanos in Marvel Comics Presents #108-111 and with Dr Strange in his Sorcerer Supreme #45, Death has popped up in Quasar #49.

Silver Surfer/Warlock: Resurrection #1 Synopsis by Rob Johnson
Silver Surfer is coming to grips with the fact that Shalla Bal is dead. He remembers how he loved her since they were children on Zenn-La but when they grew up they had little time together before Norrin Radd became Herald of Galactus to save his planet and her. When he finally left Big G he was exiled for his betrayal to Earth for years. And when he escaped from *there* he found that Shalla had become Zenn-La's Empress with the power to rejuvenate it.  Since then they were kept apart by duty and politics.

Finally (in the recent SS: Homecoming Graphic Novel) the planet was taken into the mind of the Great One where it turned out that its inhabitants would be immortal as thoughts in the GO's mind. Moondragon of the Infinity Watch, guardian of the Mind Gem, helped Surfer enter that mind where he discovered that he could become Norrin again and he and Shalla could at last be happy together. But the Great One couldn't abide an interloper, and in the ensuing battle he died and Zenn-La and other planets within the mind were doomed. SS and MD combined powers to free all the planets but Shalla offered to stay behind to act as an anchor until the rescue was complete. Then Surfer went back in to get her but was just too late.

Now Pip the Troll, the IW's guardian of the Space Gem, uses that to teleport to Surfer's side to say that Adam Warlock, leader of the Watch and bearer of the Soul Gem, would like to see him. Norrin's not interested in Warlock's schemes and flies off on his Surfboard to Manhattan. Even though AW saved the universe twice (Infinity Gauntlet and Infinity War) Surfer still doesn't trust him. He will do whatever he deems necessary to safeguard the dangerous Infinity Gems, irrespective of any other cost. Then Pip ports in again and plants Drax the Destroyer (current possessor of the Power Gem) in the way to knock SS off his Board, which they then port off with. Pip then pops back to offer Surfer a lift to the Watch's base Monster Isle where he's reunited with his Board.

Surfer uses it to fly to the castle HQ to angrily confront Warlock. Moondragon and Gamora (Time Gem) are there too, along with a Moloid servant and the Orb Of Eternity that Adam just acquired in Warlock & Infinity Watch #15. Warlock weathers Surfer's ire and tells him he knows how to get Shalla Bal back. He claims she didn't so much die as be multidimensionally dispersed, and he believes he can reverse the process. But in return Surfer will owe him a favour. Norrin readily agrees.

Now we see Mistress Death observing this in the Infinity Well. As usual she doesn't speak but 1 of her servants interprets her wishes. He expects her to be angry at this intended resurrection but she desires him to do nothing about it.

Pip ports the whole group to a planet whose civilisation died out long ago. Warlock has calculated that this is the best place to effect the resurrection. Drax and Gamora are here as bodyguards. Adam, Norrin and Moondragon will do what is required. Warlock explains that he wants Surfer to aim a thin beam of his Power Cosmic into the Soul Gem on his brow. He will then modify the energy and channel it into Moondragon's mind. She is in lotus position levitating above a pentagram and uses the combination of science and magic to pierce the layers of reality.

As the power is increased we see a portal opening. Just as MD is about to lose control they achieve full breach ...

... and demons pour through.
