Mjolnir pulls Thor through the universe
to crash into the library at Omnipotence City, the Nexus of All the
Gods. At her questions, the Librarian tells her the real story of the
hammer....
Aeons ago, All-Father Odin stopped the
trolls under Ulik from conquering Nidavellir, the realm of the
dwarves. As a gift of gratitude, they give Odin a block of the rare
metal Uru; the All-Father is underwhelmed. A sentient super storm
kicks up in space, destroying worlds; Odin takes it on with the
staggering power of the Odin-Force and forces it into the block of
Uru. He then takes it to the dwarves and demands they make him a
weapon from it. With great difficulty they forge it into a hammer and
present it to Odin. He names it Mjolnir and on touching it, it drags
him on a violent journey through Asgard; on landing, Odin enchants
the froward hammer and enchants it so that no one can lift it and
leaves it in the Weapons Hall to be forgotten But it attracts the
attention of a very young Thor....
Jane Thor wants to know if the hammer
is alive; the Librarian doubts it and Mjolnir pulls her back across
the galaxy to Earth. The Librarian knows though, that these stories
only end in death, destruction, and war....
