Synopsis / Summary / Plot

Wolverine: Origins #17 Synopsis by Peter Silvestro

During World War 2, Logan was part of a team called the Devil’s Brigade, specializing in what would someday be called black ops. His commander was Cyber, and whenever Wolverine went berserk and ran off like his animal namesake, Cyber would dispatch Sabretooth to find him and bring him in. Eventually they found a direction for his violent instincts and assigned him a handler, Seraph, to keep him focused….

In the months before the United States entered the war, Captain America was leading a secret airborne assault on North Africa called Operation: Blueboy. Something went wrong though, and the American plane was lost. Wolverine was assigned to locate it, with the help of and American agent with the British SAS…and so Logan met Nick Fury. After a search they discover the missing aircraft in the desert, surrounded by a token force of Nazis. Without waiting for a plan, Wolverine rushes in with guns blazing and takes out the enemy. He then finds Cap and tells him he has come to take him up on the offer to be his partner. "Captain America already has a partner" says Bucky Barnes. "I didn’t mean to dance with" replies Wolverine. Thus, a long-standing enmity is born….
