Incredible Hulk #600 Review by (February 15, 2010)
This issue received a lot of negative criticism mostly because there is no answer to the "Who is the Red Hulk" question. I'm not sure why Ben Urich did not know that there was a second Hulk (Rulk) or that Peter Parker is Spider-Man since Parker revealed his secret identity to the world during Civil War. A high point in the story for me is when Rick Jones (as A-Bomb) saves Bruce Banner from the gamma explosion; they're now even in that aspect.

This issue also includes the following material: (a) An All-New Savage She-Hulk story which continues directly from ALL-NEW SAVAGE SHE-HULK #4. (b) A reprint of Hulk:Gray #1 by Jeph Loeb (writer) and Tim Sale (artist), (c) A gallery of 600 tiny covers (showing 100 per page) from all the Hulk books. But the gallery also includes non-Hulk comics like Tales of Astonish #1 to #58, and Incredible Hercules #114; and misses to include the covers from the Rampaging books or the annuals. (d) Two cartoony Hulk stories by Audrey Loeb (writer) and Chris Giarrusso (artist).

Synopsis / Summary / Plot

Incredible Hulk #600 Synopsis by Julio Molina-Muscara
Reporter Ben Urich tells about his findings on the secret gamma super soldier program conducted by A.I.M. under the supervision of M.O.D.O.K. and supported by General Thunderbolt Ross, a program that spawned A-Bomb (Rick Jones) and Rulk (the Red Hulk, identity still unknown).

She-Hulk asked Ben's help to find out who Rulk was, and travel to the secret Gamma Base in Nevada. Ben brings photographer Peter Parker along, and wearing A.I.M. suits, enter the base via secret passages led by Doc Samson (with short hair). Samson tells them that A.I.M. experimented with him, Jones and Banner, and while watching A.I.M. experimenting with Banner and A-Bomb, Leonard turns into an "evil" Samson (with long hair) who proves more than a match for the She-Hulk.

Suddenly, Rulk appears and is attacked by Spider-Man who is unable to top the Red Hulk. Bruce Banner wakes up, turns into the Hulk and starts fighting Rulk, breaking the Gamma Core. In an unexpected display of power, Rulk absorbs the "Hulk out of Banner", knocking Banner out, who according to Rulk, could not turn into the Hulk again. Spider-Man saves Urich, and A-Bomb saves Banner from the explosion that destroys the base; it is unknown if She-Hulk, Samson, or M.O.D.O.K. can escape. But Rulk can, and later intimidates Urich into not publishing what he has learned. Urich plays along to protect the lives of his friends.

She is halted by the Sidhe leader, Phinn Mac Mram who threatens to kill their human hostages—and if he does, Lyra threatens to kill him. To break this stalemate, Phinn proposes that Lyra undergo the challenge his followers myust meet. Her hair is intricately braided and she must defend herself against the warriors who would muss it—or the Earth dies.
