As Captain America and Black Widow spar in the gym, they discuss the new Avengers recruits Falcon, Scarlet Witch, War Machine, and Vision. They conclude that individually they are good but need a joint adventure to mold them into a true team....

In Eastern Europe, Hydra agents recover destroyed Ultron sentries and harvest the parts to create a giant robot called Ultimo to terrorize the countryside....

Cap hears of this and calls Tony Stark to see if he wants to join he group; Tony declines. The Avengers arrive at the battle site and quickly locate the villain controlling it. Falcon and Black Widow take out the Hydra baddies while, Vision and War Machine smash up Ultimo, with the Scarlet Witch using her magic to break the thing into itty bitty pieces. Cap is satisfied with their showing.

Epilogue: Tony Stark completes a new gauntlet for Iron Man.

Captain America: Road to War (2016 series) #1 Review by (April 27, 2016)
Comments: Story is set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which is not obvious from the comic or the solicit. First appearance of Ultimo in the MCU.

Review: Designed to bridge the gap between AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON and CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR, this little tale offers nothing new or exciting, just a standard and very basic adventure. And as an added bonus (to pad out the page count and justify the price), we have a reprint of TALES OF SUSPENSE #58 featuring the first clash of Cap and Iron Man; it's a cute story but very old-fashioned by now.
