The leaders of the rebellion against Apocalypse are gathered
in a spaceship under fire outside Earth’s orbit. The heroes are Tony Stark,
Gwen Stacy, Victor von Doom, and Bruce Banner. They hand command of the fleet
to Sue Storm while they plan to divert the enemy missiles from them in a
suicide mission so that the rest of the fleet can land on Earth. They manage to
draw the missiles into space where they explode—all but one. Banner recognizes that one as a gamma bomb which he
created while still in service to Apocalypse. He transforms into Gray Hulk,
leaps out of the ship and rides the bomb away where it explodes. He plummets to
Earth and crashes in the Coliseum where he rises as a larger green-skinned
Hulk….
“A Norse of a Different Color”

Synopsis: Mangaverse Hulk is a giant with a tail and a spiked
chin. He climbs a mountain to see the Moon but also discovers Fenrir about to
devour Earth’s satellite. Hulk knows he cannot leap that far so he pulls the
Midgard Serpent from around Earth, uses it to lasso Fenrir and jerk him back to
Earth and then proceeds to beat one to death with the other. Hulk smashes to a
mythological degree!
“Son of the Dragon”

Synopsis: 1602: Having killed a king and united the American
colonies, Bruce Banner fled to China where he lives in a monastery, trying to
keep the Hulk under control. When word comes of an army seeking the creature
that killed their king, Banner becomes Hulk and goes out to meet them—but then
discovers that their quarry is Fin Fang Foom who appears in quite a bad mood.
There is a brief fight and Hulk seizes FFF by the tail and smashes him through
the Great Wall. As a result, the people of China make Hulk their God-Emperor….
“Out of Time”

Synopsis: Dr. Bruce Banner is interned in Queens Mutant
Internment Camp where he cares for the medical needs of the inmates. Darby,
dying of pancreatic cancer, has a diary full of letters to his daughter Amanda
which he cannot send as the inmates are denied mail privileges. That night,
Banner leaps into a train leaving the camp, removes the collar that suppresses his
powers, and turns into Hulk. He escapes into the city, pursued by Sentinels. He
smashes through a Sentinels head and lands in a mail truck. He visits Betty’s
grave at the cemetery where he surrenders to the soldiers when they come for
him. Back at the camp he tells Darby that he dropped the diary for Amanda in
the mail truck when he landed in it.
