Shuma-Gorath
the Elder God has arrived and the Invaders are helpless to defeat it. The
wizard, who has now joined his deceased family, offer to make amends, he and
his people will fight Shuma-Gorath in the spiritual plane while the Invaders
must defeat the bad guys in the physical realm in order to close the portal. And
so the heroes battle the Uberkommandos. Union Jack sets off a grenade in the
pocket of Master Man’s henchmen, Human Torch and Toro dehydrate U-Man, Sub-Mariner
uses Captain America’s shield to rip a giant hole in Iron Cross’ armor.
Arnim Zola tries to use the Spear of Destiny to kill Steve Rogers but he uses Cap’s
shield to protect himself and then smash Zola’s android body. He then tosses
the spear and the shield to Vision who stabs the Elder God right in the center
of the eyeball. A massive wind kicks up, pulling everything into its vortex.
Spitfire and Union Jack save Vision from being pulled in. Warrior Woman refuses
to help Master Man because she hates his always pursuing her. The wizard’s
spirit thanks the Invaders for undoing the evil. The good guys round up the
surviving bad guys, Arnim Zola is determined to have teleported into another
android body, and it is discovered that the mineral used to create the deadly
virus has become inert….
On week later, the Invaders have returned to
dedicate a memorial to those villagers who died in the war for giving the heroes
a second chance to move beyond the guilt of their actions. Vision delivers a
rousing speech and the Invaders are ready to answer the call….
