Bruce Banner visits his former professor Dr.Geoffrey Crawford, at Desert State University, hoping the professor would help him find a cure from becoming the Hulk. Bruce discovers that Crawford suffers from a disease that paralyzes half of his body and will soon cause him death. The professor shows Banner a telepod system which can transport matter by splitting and then rearranging the atomic structure. Crawford uses his invention to cure himself, and merges Banner's DNA with his own, becoming a gamma spawned monster like the Hulk. Bruce changes into the Hulk and the two goliaths go at it. But Ravage, how Crawford names himself, keeps the professors' intellect. The combination of mind and strength takes the Savage Hulk by surprise, who succumbs against Ravage.
