After Hulk arrives in New York City, the police attacks him. Losing interest, Hulk hides in a lighthouse where he befriends a hobo, Carl Pfotts, and falls to sleep.

Waking up as Bruce Banner, he sneaks in a train out of the city, but the guard finds him. Banner escapes, but cannot notice an incoming train. Panic triggers the transformation and Hulk halts the train “on its tracks”. Dr. Don Blake, who was at the freight yard’s clinic, turned to Thor to face the Hulk.

The battle is brief; Hulk buries Thor under a cargo wagon and leaps away, hiding in lower Manhattan.

However, the monster’s temper soon gives up his location. Resuming their fight, Thor and Hulk end up inside the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel where Hulk throws a van to Thor and misses, cracking the tunnel’s roof, causing water leaks. Thor turns his attention to the civilians, and Hulk surprises him with a punch that releases Mjolnir from his grasp.

As Thor steps on a truck to hold the roof, the Hulk tries to lift Thor’s hammer... until he does! Not really, the hammer converted into a wooden cane and Thor into Don Blake. Blake explains to the Hulk that he and Thor are the same person. Hulk thinks he has defeated Thor by trapping him inside of Blake and leaves.

Blake uses his cane to turn back into Thor and hold the roof until repair crews appear to fix the tunnel.

Moments later, Hulk sneaks onto an Israeli boat headed for Tel Aviv. He wants to get away from the city, the "puny humans", fighting every day, and, most importantly, Banner.
