World War Hulk: Front Line #4 Review by (February 15, 2010)
Issues 2-5 are divided into three sections, all written by Paul Jenkins: a) “Embedded: Behind Enemy Lines,” drawn by Ramon Bachs, focusing on Ben and Sally’s efforts to cover the human tragedy of the war; b) “Costume Division: Death of an Android,” drawn by Shawn Martinbrough, following Detective Danny Granville and Korg as they investigate the suspicious death of Arch-E-5912; and c) “War is Heck,” drawn by Chris Moreno, a series of comical vignettes on World War Hulk. Story occurs at the same time as WORLD WAR HULK #4. Hulk appears only briefly, in a single panel at the gladiator games.

World War Hulk: Front Line #4 Review by (February 15, 2010)
The issue starts with Sally Floyd asking Danny Granville where he got his black eye. He says he had an argument with a rock. This refers back (or in another way forward) to his argument with Korg the Stone Man in #5 story 2. During Sally's confrontation with J Jonah Jameson they ignore a bar fight between a human and 1 of Hulk's insect-men. Story 1 parallels WWH#4 while the Danny Granville/Korg storyline in /2 (along with #5/2) happened during WWH#3. #4/3 is not considered canonical because it (humorously) kills off people (such as the Great Lakes Avengers) who will appear alive later. (Some like Blistik are not missed.)

Synopsis / Summary / Plot

World War Hulk: Front Line #4 Synopsis by Peter Silvestro
Sally Floyd, concerned about Danny Granville, wanders the streets of New York, talking on the phone to her mother in a refugee camp. She heads into a bar for a drink and meets J. Jonah Jameson who belittles her ability and Front Line Daily’s success, offering to buy them out, threatening to unmask their mysterious backer. A bitter Sally walks out on him. Meanwhile, Ben Urich has joined the crowd at the Hulk’s gladiator games, nauseated by the invaders’ bloodlust and, even more, the Earth crowd’s delight in it. At Danny’s apartment, he and Korg view the surveillance tape from the deli; under prodding, Korg reveals that at that moment he was confirming ARCH-E-5912’s instructions which were to observe but not interfere. Visiting the crime scene, Danny takes it all in: the blast site, centering on ARCH-E-5912’s body, radioactive residue, signs of looting and he bursts into laughter. He then tells Korg who killed ARCH-E-5912: “It was you.”

“War is Heck:” a montage of scenes of Hulk easily taking out several minor heroes.
