Archie Goodwin, Herb Trimpe

Story Name:

Cry Hulk, Cry Havoc

Synopsis

Incredible Hulk #150 Synopsis by Joakim Wemmergard
Image from Incredible Hulk #150

Hulk escapes from the Project Greenskin base where he fought the Inheritor (last issue, Incredible Hulk #149), and jumps into the desert to find peace. There he finds Lorna Dane, sent out by Professor Xavier to talk Havoc (who’s living in a house in the desert) into rejoining the X-Men.

Hulk confuses Lorna with Jarella because of her green hair, grabs her under his arm, and jumps away. Havoc chases after them, and a big fight starts. Havoc focuses his sonic power into a small beam that penetrates the Hulk’s brain. The Hulk passes out from the pain! He transforms back into Bruce Banner.

Havoc agrees to return to the X-Men and leave with Lorna. Later on, Betty Ross and Glenn Talbot find Banner, who is still unconscious. As Betty holds Bruce, he utters, “Jarella, my love”, bringing the girl to tears.

Also in this story: Thunderbolt Ross; in flashbacks, Iceman.
