Nova (Richard Rider), Phyla-Vell (daughter of the Kree Captain Marvel) and Peter Quill (ex-Star-Lord) have located a resistance cell on Canticus Prime on the fringe of the Kree Empire. They include Blastaar, a Neg Zone enemy of Annihilus, and a cadre of next generation Spaceknights. Their current MO is to plant bombs on enemy transports and blow them up when they're full of troops and/or supplies. But our trio have come here via an unreliable teleportation system to get the coordinates of Annihilus' current position. Now they teleport out.
On Thanos' starship with Galactus attached Drax The Destroyer has just fulfilled his life's purpose by killing the Mad Titan. But now his daughter Moondragon tells her father that he has doomed the universe. Thanos created Big G's 'chains' and was the only 1 who could free him to oppose the Lord of the Neg Zone. She shows him the device that would do the job but it's keyed to Thanos' lifeforce. However Drax conceives a plan, and he asks her to use her mental powers to hold off the insectoid hordes while he executes it. He jumps down to where Silver Surfer is imprisoned beside Galactus. He asks the Devourer to look after Heather if he succeeds and then smashes through the force bubble that holds SS and frees him from tubes plugged into him. He carries Surfer back up to where Moonie is struggling to keep the insectoids in stasis and then places Norrin Radd's hand on Thanos' device and tells him he's the only 1 who can free his master and save the universe. Surfer tries his best, Moondragon faints and the insectoids surge forward. But Galactus is free and very angry.
Meanwhile Kree Ronan the ex-Accuser, Super-Skrull and his robotic Neg Zone companion Praxagora are wading through Kree troops to get at the current rulers of the Kree Empire, the Mercantile House Fiyero on Hala. As they fight Ronan asks the soldiers to stand down and not defend their corrupt leaders, but Skrull Kl'rt (with the combined powers of the Fantastic Four) is happy to kill as many Kree as he can. But then Annihilus' elite force the Centurions join the fight against them because the Fiyero have made a deal with Annihilus' representative Ravenous. They think they can avoid war and strike a trade deal with the Neg Zone. But Ronan and his Universal Weapon throw them all off and he stalks into the throne room followed by Kl'rt and Prax. Ravenous tells Ronan that the Fiyeros deal can ensure that the Kree don't go the way of the Skrulls, to near extinction. This angers the Skrull who attacks Ravenous but he's beaten back. Ronan slaughters some the foe's Currs to get to him and Praxagora is overwhelmed by more Kree troops. Kl'rt urges her to use all her power and she unleashes the power of a star within her. Super-Skrull kills more Currs and Ronan delivers Kree justice to Ravenous but breaks his Universal Weapon in the process.
The Centurions back off leaving the Fiyeros alone as the remaining Kree soldiers choose to side with Ronan. Ronan executes the merchants with his own power. Then he goes to the chamber of the Supreme Intelligence, the usual ruler of the Kree. But he learns that Fiyero had condemned him to a living death, no longer able to use the assembled minds of the greatest Kree thinkers of ages past. So he puts him out of his misery and goes out to accept the adulation of the crowd.
