Story Name:

Hawkeye Vs Angel

Synopsis

AvX: Vs (2012 series) #5 synopsis by reviewer Rob Johnson
Rating: 3.5 stars

Angel, Hawkeye and Psylocke seem to have stayed behind on Wundagore Mountain after the rest of their teams left. Clint Barton seems to have a psionic cloaking device which hides him from Betsy Braddock but Warren Worthington (or at least whatever's currently occupying his body) spots him, and Hawkeye lets loose some arrows at the same time. Angel returns fire with some 'feathers' from his metal wings which make Hawk dodge and roll before firing another arrow. Which 1 of Angel's flechettes splits down the middle, and a storm of them pins the archer to the snowy ground. Warren lands and closes in, but Clint rises with 3 arrows in each wrist gauntlet and strikes like Wolverine, slashing his foe's stomach open. They roll down a slope grappling, but now Barton has the advantage. Until Psylocke turns up. Hawkeye threatens to shoot her in the head unless Angel leaves. Angel gives up but then Hawkeye shoots him in the stomach. Betsy rushes to Warren's aid as Barton runs off calling for extraction.

Synopsis

By Rob Johnson
Rating: 4 stars
Black Panther and his wife Storm are clashing in Wakanda. She calls down a lightning strike on him but as she suspected his uniform is insulated and he's even able to send the electricity back at her. They both hate this but each believes they are fighting to save the future. Now *he* calls on pre-prepared countermeasures from a satellite, a drone and some nanotech which between them remove all wind and rain from the area. Storm realises that T'Challa had a specific plan to take down even *her*. Now it comes down to hand-to-hand fighting. She's good but of course he's better. But meanwhile they both realise that their marriage was doomed from the start. They end the fight with 1 last kiss. And then Ororo walks away with Danger, Dr Nemesis and Rachel Grey, leaving her wedding ring on the ground.

AvX: Vs (2012 series) #5 Review by (December 20, 2025)
This issue is another Avengers Vs X-Men tie-in. All of it occurs out of sequence with the rest of its title. Nearly all of it is within AvX#4 with our #2.
But Emma Frost's gold uniform in the last panels of story 1 indicate *they* take place after AvX#5. The Marvel Chronology Project have those panels immediately after AvX#5, still out of our sequence.

Angel suggests that at least the rest of the Avengers team has left Wundagore. But this doesn't make continuity sense because Uncanny X-Men #13 shows Red Hulk breaking Psylocke's arm during the battle and it's not broken here.

Ororo and T'Challa got married in his 2005 #18 during the (1st) Civil War event. (It's lasted 7½ real-world years, which must be a couple of comics years.)
