Story Name:

Scarlet Witch Vs Hope Summers

Synopsis

AvX: Vs (2012 series) #6 synopsis by reviewer Rob Johnson
Rating: 4.5 stars

The 1st half of this issue is taken up with a 10-page fight between Scarlet Witch and Hope Summers. Iron Man and Captain America got them together because each of them had proved powerful against the Phoenix-empowered X-Men and they hoped that combined they would be the answer to the whole problem. But instead it turned into a grudge match. Hope (correctly) blames Wanda Maximoff for decimating mutant ranks and ensuring that no more would be born (at the end of the House Of M event). And this led to Hope being seen as a Mutant Messiah when she *was* born, and in turn to her difficult life.

The fight takes place in K'un-Lun where the Avengers have taken refuge. Power-mimic Hope attacks the Witch with her own hex power but she doesn't know how to handle probabilities as the much more experienced Wanda does. SW calmly makes Hope's blows miss her. But Hope does manage to deflect SW's hex blasts. She reminds Wanda of her fateful "No more mutants" then headbutts her saying "No more nose". The Witch gets angry and casts the kind of spell that disintegrated people (in HOM#7) by making them dissolve into little blocks. Hope retaliates by doing the same to her. But they both give that up and just fight. However the effect seems to be spreading to blockify the whole world ...

... until Wanda calls for a truce for Earth's sake, and Hope reluctantly agrees - much to the relief of Cap and IM. Their fight has blasted a big crater in the ground. The women shake hands, but then Hope sneakily KO's Wanda with 1 punch and declares herself the winner.

Synopsis

By Rob Johnson
Rating: 3.5 stars
In this section I've included various 1 or 2-page tales that Marvel and the Marvel Chronology Project consider 'real'.

Story 4 is just a single-panel page of Havok blasting Captain America.

Story 5 is a 2-pager with Domino using her luck power to hit all the right pressure points to knock Red Hulk out.

The 1-page Story 6 has the X-School's janitor Toad sent by Emma Frost to Avengers Tower to steal data from their computers. But Avengers butler Jarvis catches him and punches him out of a window.

Story 7 has Hawkeye dreaming of his girlfriend Spider-Woman fighting various X-women (Emma Frost, Storm and Psylocke). But his dream is interrupted by the real SW calling him to battle alongside Cap, Black Ant and Lockheed the dragon.

Story 8 is a 2nd 2-pager wherein Iron Fist smashes Iceman to pieces and he can't collect himself together because the air's too dry. Danny Rand hopes they'll meet later as allies. But just then a thunderstorm happens and IM turns it into a blizzard of ice fists which KO the other hero. Bobby Drake decides not to arrest the Avenger.

This section contains 3 1-page tales that are considered to be in another timeline by Marvel (or the Marvel Fandom Wiki). The MCP database of individual character chronologies doesn't include them as stories.

In Story 2 Captain America and Cyclops have a slanging match. Marvel have given this its own timeline Earth-62456.

Story 9 has Squirrel Girl and Pixie using dice to decide the result of fights between individual superhero figures. They disagree with some of the results. Iron Man shouldn't have beaten Magneto, and Thing shouldn't have beaten Sub-Mariner underwater. (These actual fights and results happened in #1) Then they learn that the figures were made by Puppet Master from his radioactive clay that he uses to control people, and they wonder if *they* caused the Avengers Vs X-Men event. Marvel dub this Earth-12126.

The last story on my list isn't so clear cut. Story 3 shows a big battle between various Marvel super-scientists - Beast, Black Panther, Broo, Dr Nemesis, Giant-Man, Iron Man, Kavita Rao, Leonardo da Vinci and Madison Jeffries. The battle is as much arguments over science as it is fights. Marvel haven't (yet) declared it an alternate timeline but the Wiki has given it T(emporary)R(eality)N(umber)338. The main MCP database doesn't include it, but the Forum's Avengers Vs X-Men overall chronology does and places it at the Avengers Academy between their #29 and #30. However they can't explain why some of the chars would be there.

AvX: Vs (2012 series) #6 Review by (May 30, 2026)
Part 1:-

The Hope/Wanda fight is an expansion of part of a large flashback in AVX#12 which itself occurs between AVX#10 (where Hope managed to expel Cyclops from K'un-Lun) and# #11 (where Cyclops takes all the Phoenix power into himself and turns Dark).

Jim Cheung does the wonderful job I enjoyed so much on Young Avengers vol 1 and Children's Crusade.

Mark Morales and Mark Roslan help Jim Cheung with the inking.

Part 2:-

Stories  4, 5 and 6 are all placed within AVX#7 after the Avengers have been declared outlaws.
Captain America vs Havok is by Mike Deodato (writer&artist) and Rain Beredo.
Hulk vs Domino is by Ed McGuinness (writer&artist) and Brian Reber.
Toad vs Jarvis is by Christopher Hastings and Jacob Chabot.

Story 7 Spider-Woman vs. X-Women (kinda) is by Jeph Loeb, Arthur Adams and Marte Gracia. This 1 is lettered by Albert Deschesne rather than Joe Caramagna. The MCP puts it within AVX#6 while the X-Men are turning Earth into an utopia.

Story 8 Iron Fist vs. Iceman is by Jason Aaron, Ramon Perez and Jordie Bellaire. The MCP have it between AVX#8 (the battle in Wakanda where Scarlet Witch causes Namor to lose his Phoenix power) and #9 (the battle in Limbo where Spider-Man tricks Colossus and Magik into losing their Phoenix power).

Part 3:-

Story 2 Verbal Abuse is by Brian Michael Bendis and Jim Mahfood.
Story 3 Science Battle! is by Kathryn & Stuart Immonen and Marte Gracia.
Story 9 How We Roll is by Dan Slott and Katie Cook.
