Black Widow and Hawkeye (2024 series) #3

Russian Embassy, then: After Black Widow was captured by Snapdragon and taken to the Russian Embassy, Hawkeye followed and was intercepted trying to break in by Iron Man. Shellhead tells Clint it’s none of their business as Black Widow is a Russian agent taken by her own people and it’s their problem to deal with. He knows Hawkeye has fallen for her seductive ways but it’s for the best. So Hawkeye shoots him with an exploding arrow…

… and inside Damon Dran is watching the business on the roof and offers Natasha a choice: return to Russia for execution or agree to serve Dran. She refuses, insisting Hawkeye will rescue her….

Madripoor, now: Hawkeye is recovering from the poison and the symbiote inside his body however briefly, which may have side effects. Clint is worried as Natasha tells him that when she first bonded with the symbiote it magnified all of her negative feelings and she had to learn to suppress those feelings. Natasha leaves to get him more water and Clint is suddenly full of anger and guilt as the symbiote tells him he needs Natasha but she does not need him. She returns with the water to find Clint gone. And she knows he listened to the symbiote….

Russian Embassy, then: Hawkeye breaks into the Embassy and uses trick arrows, one with webbing, another with glue. Damon Dran goes out to see to the invader. Black Widow tricks her guard into coming too close and she clobbers him and escapes….

Madripoor, now: Hawkeye broods, thinking it’s his turn to help Natasha by staying away from her. He is then surrounded by cloaked villains who show him a hologram of Damon Dran who wants to talk. Clint offers himself in place of Natasha—except that Dran doesn’t want Clint. This matches the symbiote’s voice in his head. He is captured to be used as bait in a trap for the Black Widow with the symbiote calling him worthless….
