The Asthma Monster escapes from prison
with the help of his Allergen Gang of furry little creatures who have
smuggled his costume and Aller-Gun to him. He gives the Warden a
message: he is seeking revenge against Captain America and John and
Ruth, the two kids who helped Cap catch him....
John and Ruth are at school and
discover their friend Davey is having trouble breathing and suggest
he be checked for asthma. Captain America arrives to lecture the kid
on the condition and (with his mother) takes him to the doctor.
Diagnosis: yes, Davey has asthma and it can be controlled. Cap then
tells John and Ruth about the Asthma Monster's escape and threat and
intends to escort them home....
Arriving at John's house they find the
front door open; they enter and the villain suddenly teleports in and
shoots Cap with his Aller-Gun, forcing the hero to use his inhaler.
Asthma Monster explains that he has John's parents prisoners upstairs
to test his new super allergen on as part of his plan to make
everyone on Earth into incurable asthmatics so he would be the only
healthy one. The villain teleports out, leaving Cap and company to
make their way upstairs, battling the Allergen Gang, each one
representing the various triggers for asthma: Rugburn (tobacco
smoke), Dust Dragon (dust in vents), Feather Boa (feathers), Furball
(pet hair), Mold Patrol (mold and pollen), and finally Allergen Al
(all of them); by this time the doctor has joined them in the final
confrontation with Asthma Monster. Cap punches the Monster's lights
out and the doctor tells the baddie his asthma can be controlled....
Months later, Cap and the kids meet
Daniel Tyler, no longer the Asthma Monster but an ordinary person
living a full life helped by medication.
