The Japanese army mobilizes to battle the quartet of giant monsters attacking the city: Droom, Giganto, Grogg, and Eerok. Iron Man joins the Fantastic Four in battling the creatures. Thing and Human Torch take over the giant robot museum mascot, Otetsukun, with Ben controlling the robot’s movements and Johnny providing flame breath. Iron Man leads Droom to the army who fire upon it and kill it, upsetting Shellhead who was hoping for a peaceful resolution. Meanwhile, Reed Richards has gone to the museum and recovered the trachea of a monster found frozen in ice and blowing through it, he manages to communicate with Grogg; the creature describes how his race once ruled the world and then slept and upon reawakening, discovered that they are now being vanquished by the human race. But…Grogg explains to Reed that they are now coming ashore not to conquer but to flee something even more frightening. As more monsters approach the shore, Reed promises Grogg that he will stop this “walking apocalypse.” With a grim laugh, Grogg leads the others back where they came from. And then Reed has to explain to the others what he promised….

Invisible Woman catches her son Franklin Richards going sledding with Uncle Johnny (the Human Torch), intending to use Reed’s new weather generator to create snow in summer. Sue sends Franklin to his room where H.E.R.B.I.E. is trying to clean up. Franklin has held onto the weather machine and creates a snowstorm which turns into a rainstorm and a bolt of lightning fries the weather device. A tornado is generated which soon blows itself out. Sue looks in and says the room looks like a tornado blew through it. “You have no idea, Mom.”
