Hulk: Gray #5 Review by (February 15, 2010)
Not to sound cynical, but this seems like what some people would call a "filler" issue, to stretch the series out long enough to put it in a trade. I think that may be right it some situations, but the great Hulk and Betty interaction is truly creepy and depressing, and Sale's art gets the mood perfectly. An interesting early interaction between the Hulk and Betty. Now, I know it's been done to death, but I kinda wanted to bring up the whole Oedipus thing with the Hulk. This Hulk portrayed is definitely the "mommy good/father bad" part of Bruce's psyche. NO DUH, EINSTEIN! (or should I put Freud?) I don't know, not trying to be profound, but this issue epitomizes that stuff. ~ Mike Bird

Synopsis / Summary / Plot

Hulk: Gray #5 Synopsis by Mike Bird
The Hulk is trying to atone for his sins by giving "medical attention" to Betty Ross, to fix the head wound she sustained while the Hulk was beating the snot out of Iron Man. Some great Hulk and Betty interaction follows.
