Athena, sister of Hercules. tells Amadeus Cho (Mastermind Excello) that if he dwells with titans, like the Hulk or Hercules, he must be prepared to accept that such formidable beings must sometimes be monsters, or he won't avoid bringing doom upon all.
Athena's story begins when Gaea feeling pity for one of her "sons" the Hulk, brought him from the Crossroads to Olympus. After being welcomed by two kind giants, Callias and Zeno, the Hulk is attacked unreasonably by Ares who quickly fells upon the might of the Hulk. Hercules (who was fighting the Thing and other heroes in a ring in an event to raise money for cancer research) is brought from Earth to stop the Hulk. But after trading some heavy blows, learning that Ares was the reason for the Hulk's rampage, Hercules ends the battle... soon to restart against other formidable opponents: Evil giants commanded by Cronus. The Hulk helps the gods in the battle. Following orders by Zeus, Hercules kills all giants, including the two who had welcomed the Hulk with sympathy. Disgusted the Hulk returns to the Crossroads (using Doctor Strange's spell).
Note: Cho confesses Athena that after helping the Hulk during the World War Hulk, he learned the Hulk, although always pulling his punches looking out for the weaker, could have killed them all, so he was the wrong person to champion.
