Incredible Hulk (1999 series) #28 synopsis by Julio M2
Rating: 5 stars
Joe Fixit tries convincing Bruce Banner that he's life is all a lie, an unreal perfect dream. But Bruce doesn't recognize him and goes back home. On the way back Bruce sees the Devil Hulk in a cuttery. And then he starts being sourranded by lizard like creatures that were once his friends or work colleagues. The world seems falling appart, it seems WW3 is very close. But Banner still doesn't want to believe his life is just a fantasy. Until the Savage Hulk breaks through a street and a building where Banner was walking. The green monster calls Bruce by his last name and that pushes Bruce to jump in a car driven by the Devil Hulk. He introduces himself as a friend and takes Bruce back home. With his family scared and watching the monster approaching, the Devil Hulk reveals himself to Bruce. In trade of controlling the Hulk form, the Devil Hulk offers Bruce to live the perfect life he's been enjoying, always sourranded by who he loves most: his wife Betty Ross, his two daughters (non existant in the real world), a great relationship with his parents and father-in-law, a great work and social life. But Bruce desists the tempting offer and leaves the house which falls to pieces, since none of that is real, and furthermore, he doesn't want to let the Devil loose on the Earth against all those who have hurt the Hulk since the eraly days. The giant Savage Hulk smashes Banner with his fist and reality is brough back, resuming in Bruce lying on a bed, crying for having lost Betty once more. Special guests: Thundebolt Ross, Abomination, Emil Blonsky.
