Misty Knight is being held hostage by the Wrecking Crew to force Iron Fist to break into Avengers’ Mansion for them and prove his compliance by killing every Avenger he finds inside. Iron Fist sneaks into an upstairs window but is seen by Jarvis who panic and runs down the hall. Iron Fist leaps and catches him, cushioning the butler with his own body as they tumble down the stairs. Captain America, on watch that evening at the Mansion, enters to the sight of an unconscious Jarvis with the "wanted killer" Iron Fist standing over him, brushes aside the martial artist’s explanations and attacks. Iron Fist takes the fight to him, discovering too late that Cap is a more formidable opponent than he had dreamed. He pulls his punches, even using his signature move only against Cap’s shield. Unable to convince Cap he isn’t a villain, he stands still when Cap topples a heavy generator on him, forcing Cap to push him out of the way (as he knew the legendary hero would). Iron Fist persuades Cap to listen to his explanation and they have time to devise a trap for the Wrecking Crew when they arrive. In due time the villains show up with Misty in tow. Iron Fist admits them to the Mansion and shows them the corpse of Captain America. Once they are inside the large room however, Iron Fist pushes Misty out before the door seals itself and the Danger Room—set to give Thor a workout—activates. The massive machinery does the work of clobbering the Wrecking Crew, with Cap and Iron Fist to help it along a bit. The baddies are turned over to the police, Cap apologizes to Iron Fist for jumping to conclusions, and Misty and Danny head off for a nice dinner.
