In a fold in the dimensions, Doctor Strange has hidden the most dangerous bits of magic devices like the Portal Nexus. This sanctum is invaded by Baron Mordo and Arnim Zola, aided by Zola’s robots imbued with Mordo’s dark magic. They want the Portal Nexus so Strange, knowing he will need the aid of Tony Stark against technology, teleports the Portal to Hong Kong. SHIELD detects their appearance and contacts Tony Stark…
…who is kicking off Stark Expo Hong Kong with a dramatic appearance as Iron Man. He introduces his guests, King T’Challa and Dr. Bruce Banner then turns the program over to local Stark Vice President Wendy Wong who unveils the company’s newest creation: the Stark Emergency Response Exosuit a/k/a SERE-X….
Mordo and Zola arrive in Hong Kong, their ship cloaked by Mordo’s magic. The Portal falls at Iron Man’s feet, quickly followed by an invasion of Hydra robots. T’Challa dons his Black Panther outfit to evacuate the venue while Bruce transforms into the Hulk to smash the robots. Wendy’s sister Arwyn reveals herself to be a SHIELD Agent and quickly puts on the SERE-X to join the fight while Wendy makes nonstop adjustments to the suit via laptop. Iron Man shoots down the transport ships that brought the robots and learns their orders are coming from close by. Shellhead gives Arwyn some quick pointers on using the exo-suit. Then the sky opens and Dr. Strange arrives with the Avengers: Captain America, Black Widow, War Machine, and Hawkeye. It is discovered that SERE-X can draw off the magic abilities of the robots so Zola sends more robots around the Hong Kong area; Strange teleports the Avengers to meet them in battle. Mordo and Zola turn their main ship into a giant robot; Tony has Arwen call “Avengers Assemble” and the heroes link up to face the villains. Iron Man employs his new repulsor cannon and it destroys the ship. Strange ties up Zola and Mordo in magic bonds and takes the Portal Nexus with him. Tony Stark invites everyone to dinner where he praises Wendy and Arwen’s working together as the real heroes and suggests they continue….
