Synopsis

Iron Man #332 synopsis by T Vernon
Rating: 3.5 stars
Iron Man (Teen Tony Stark) quietly pokes his head out of a manhole and spies Sentinels patrolling the city as minions of Onslaught. He returns through the sewer to where his allies, Giant-Man and Quicksilver, are waiting and reports. They are joined by Black Panther and head for the Wakandan Embassy until a huge wave of water comes crashing towards them. Hank grows to giant-size, smashing his way though the street and facing the Sentinels. It takes a moment for the Sentinel to identify him as an enemy to be terminated and the two fight it out. Panther, Iron Man, and Quicksilver enter the Embassy through a secret door and head for the lab. There Tony plans to construct psi-shields to protect them from the Sentinels' scanners....

Outside, Hank has been overwhelmed by a cadre of Sentinels and they are programmed to destroy all Avengers; Pietro rushes in, snatches up the unconscious Hank and takes off, the slower robots in pursuit....

Tony has created a number of psi-shield helmets that are powered by Vibranium and T'Challa is planning to deliver them to the rest of the Avengers when a Sentinel breaks through the ceiling to kill them. Iron Man takes him on, calling to Panther to evacuate the embassy. As he goes, T'Challa promises to remember Iron Man for his sacrifice....

On a rooftop, Giant-Man and Quicksilver feel guilty about abandoning Tony when a Sentinel flies into view. Suddenly it's head falls off revealing Iron Man safe and sound with a number of psi-shields for his teammates.....

Story continued in Avengers #402, and eventually the Onslaught: Marvel Universe 1-shot and the Heroes Reborn universe.

Review / Commentaries

Iron Man #332 Review by (July 9, 2019)
Comments: Final issue of IRON MAN Vol. 1.

Review: The end of an era! And the end of a volume! Aaaand...that's the end of Teen Tony Stark, too; Kurt Busiek addressed the questions concerning the Crossing and the multiple Tonys in AVENGERS ANNUAL 2001: essentially Onslaught and Heroes Reborn did away with him, replacing him with another adult Tony. Sort of. The issue makes for an okay tie-in to a big event i.e. interesting in itself but not essential to following the main story.
