Synopsis

Mortal Thor, The (2025 series) #10 synopsis by reviewer Peter Silvestro
Rating: 4 stars

At the rarely used side entrance to Roxxon Headquarters in New York, Sigurd Jarlson crouches in the shadows and overhears a conversation between two guards where he learns the new door code (1492). So he throws a broken bottle a little ways away and while the guard is investigating, he enters the building, staring the security camera in the eye as he goes by….

In the security office, the villainous Blake watches Sigurd’s entry; a henchman suggests they call the authorities but Blake bristles at the word “authority” as he doesn’t recognize anyone having any authority over him; he executes the henchman with a spray of gas from his serpent cane, turning the man into a skeleton. Blake then dispatches Grey Gargoyle to capture Sigurd which will leave his soul intact….

Sigurd spots a guard near the passenger elevator so he heads for the freight elevator and ascends. A guard peeks out of the utility hatch and aims his gun at Sigurd, who smashes in his face with a toss of his bungee hammer. More guards drop from the ceiling and Sigurd dispatches them one by one with hammer to the face. The doors open and Sigurd encounters a guard with a machine gun with an assistant carrying a belt with more bullets. Sigurd slides under the rapid fire and kicks the guy in the crotch then clouts him in the head. The assistant tries to surrender but Sigurd thumps him on the noggin. The 28t floor is the highest it sill go so he takes the stairs to the top and in the stairwell he meets the Grey Gargoyle. The villain turns a railing to stone and wields it as a club. GG leaps at our hero and tries to touch him with his deadly right hand. Sigurd breaks GG’s little finger off with his hammer and then hits his knee, knocking him off balance so Sigurd shoves him down the stairwell, where he crashes to the bottom, begging for help before he changes back in one hour….

Sigurd reaches the top floor and enters Dario Agger’s office to find the CEO waiting for him, having already transformed into the Minotaur….

Mortal Thor, The (2025 series) #10 Review by (May 13, 2026)

Review: So the last Roxxon baddie from IMMORTAL THOR, the Grey Gargoyle, gets his chance to face Sigurd Jarlson and goes down the fastest of the four in this mostly action issue, featuring more surprisingly gory moments of violence. True, the plot doesn’t advance very much. Last issue ended with Sigurd vowing to confront Dario Agger and this one ends with Sigurd confronting Agger, the parts leading up to it being “Sigurd goes upstairs.” Some undemanding fun, with an amusing cover of our hero knocking a bad guy through a Roxxon billboard.

Comments: Issue includes a tribute to the late Sal Buscema, Marvel Comics legend.
