Mortal Thor, The (2025 series) #9

Sigurd Jarlson, asleep in bed, hears Thor calling him with a warning—and then he is awakened by a glow. He discovers Doctor Chen Lu, the Radioactive Man, in his bedroom, drinking his coffee. Chen Lu represents one who has been wronged and he apologizes for the losers who failed to defeat Sigurd. Sigurd connects him to Blake and hurls his hammer; Chen Lu catches it in one hand and it melts. The villain orders him to leave town, and if possible, the country, within 24 hours or Radioactive Man will kill him and everyone around him; he departs (through a hole burned in the wall)….

Sigurd goes out and encounters Lukki and asks for change for a payphone in exchange for a riddle. The riddle refers to Luck, which Sigurd will likely need….

Sigurd goes to the construction site where his boss Jenny Sapristi gives him the two things he asked from her, a new hammer and a mystery object in a briefcase that she obtained through certain family connections. Sigurd thanks her and departs (through the door)….

Radioactive Man reports to Dario Agger that Sigurd has not left town so he follows the radioactive tracer he planted on him and finds him in an abandoned factory. And Sigurd meets him, wearing a hazmat suit. He hurls his new hammer and hits Chen Lu in the face before running off. Making threats, Chen Lu hurls radioactive blasts at the enemy, who ducks and dodges the deadly bombs. Sigurd leaps through a window and informs Chen Lu he has just knocked down all of the load-bearing columns. The entire building collapses on him….

Sigurd telephones Kris to tell her what has happened, hoping the lead in the factory walls will keep Chen Lu still for a while. But he warns Kris that she is in danger as are everyone they know and the bad guys won’t stop…so he must take the fight to Dario Agger and end it. Tonight….
