SHIELD Agents Nick Fury Jr. and Phil Coulson race to Kng_of_fmountain’s house. Fury explains that Kenji Nakamoto developed a software that turned reality into a code to be altered, meaning it could change anything as if by magic. Fury was under orders to kill Nakamoto and destroy his software but he couldn’t bring himself to do it so he sent Nakamoto into hiding while reporting him dead. And now they find Kng_of_fmountain murdered with Coulson deducing that someone has found Nakamoto….

Chameleon, disguised as a SHIELD Agent, rings Nakamoto’s bell, telling the man he is in danger and must be taken into protective custody. Nakamoto is suspicious (it could be because Chameleon looks like a desiccated corpse) and runs back into his house. In his lab, Nakamoto hits the red button, setting the code free. Fury and Coulson arrive at Nakamoto’s house to find Hydra agents loading Nakamoto and his hardware into their giant tank and taking off. SHIELD pursues Hydra through the skies; Chameleon jumps onto the hood of Fury’s flying car and battles the hero while the vehicles fly through the downtown area, the software changing things as they zoom by, Coulson exchanging gunfire with the Hydra agents. Then Fury stumbles and Chameleon brings his dagger down at Fury’s face….

Original Sin: Secret Avengers Infinite Comic (2014 series) #1 Review by (November 3, 2026)

Review: An offbeat bit of Infinite Comic, having Nick Fury Jr and Phil Coulson pursue a guy who can rewrite the code of reality. Seems like the tale is mainly talk: Fury and Coulson, Chameleon and Nakamoto and we get a taste of the alterations to reality but not enough to sink our teeth into. The story is clearly holding back when it needs something to give it a boost. Maybe next time. The cinematic style of these Infinite Comics is a blast though, minor changes to facial reactions underlying the drama are terrific.

Comments: Tie-in to the ORIGINAL SIN event; this takes place after the release of the Watcher’s eye energy at the end of ORIGINAL SIN #2. Story falls between SECRET AVENGERS (2014) #4 and 5. Tom Brevoort, Wil Moss, and Jon Moisan are listed as editors.
