The Invaders (Captain America,
Sub-Mariner, Human Torch, Spitfire, Union Jack) are surprised and
confused by reports that the Destroyer, their friend Roger Aubrey,
has turned against the Allies, sabotaging military installations in
Britain. A news report comes over the radio that Destroyer riding a
Nazi warplane has attacked London Bridge. They hurry to the scene
where Namor and the Torch battle the fire that threatens the bridge
while Cap pilots Namor's flagship to pursue the enemy planes to a
castle out on the Moors. Spitfire and Union Jack leap out of the
plane, the latter surprising his companion with his newly-acquired
electrical powers that enable him to ride a wave of static
electricity to the roof. Spying through a window they see Destroyer
meeting with his Nazi henchmen and Union Jack is now certain that
this Destroyer is an impostor as Roger could not speak German. They
burst in and Union Jack does battle with the phony Destroyer as he
takes it personally that the villain is ruining the good name of his
former identity. Meanwhile Spitfire takes down the henchmen then
searches the castle for Roger. This Destroyer is more powerful than
UJ expects, a mystery that is cleared up only when the villain
unmasks as Master Man. MM overcomes UJ and when he sees his cowardly
henchmen fleeing by plane, he runs to leap aboard carrying his
captive. The weary Union Jack creates an electrical explosion sending
him and his captor plummeting to the ground. Spitfire creates a
whirlwind of heated air which slows him down enough for Roger to
catch. But Master Man gets away....
Back at Lord Falsworth's home, Roger is
able to don his Destroyer costume, intending to continue his original
mission of fighting behind enemy lines. Cap, Namor, and Torch receive
a message from President Roosevelt asking them to return to the US
immediately....
