Comments: Gorr, the God Butcher was the villain from THOR GOD OF THUNDER #1-11 by Jason Aaron. It has been nine months, three weeks, four days, seven hours since Thor became unworthy, by his own count. Thanos has been imprisoned in the Triskelion since CIVIL WAR II #1.

Synopsis / Summary / Plot

The Unworthy Thor #2 Synopsis by Peter Silvestro

Odinson (the unworthy Thor) and Beta Ray Bill have met at the site of the missing Asgard. Bill offers Thor his hammer to replace Mjolnir but Thor declines. They are then attacked by drone planes dispatched by the mysterious being who stole Asgard. When it seems as though they are winning the battle, the villain detonates a nine million-year-old bomb from his collection and Thor is clobbered....

Thor dreams that he is being crushed under the weight of Mjolnir; a multitude of hammers fall from the sky, pounding Odinson into a massive crater. The face of Gorr, the God Butcher, appears, taunting him with the thought that the gods are useless....

Thor awakens to find himself a captor of the Collector who takes him to the stolen Asgard. However, it is not Asgard that the Collector covets but the hammer of the Ultimate Thor which is there. The problem is, none of the Collector's minions can lift the hammer without being destroyed by lightning from the hammer. The Collector therefore wants the Odinson to reveal the secret to lifting the hammer. But this Thor doesn't know. The Collector brings out the last surviving Dauterian and threaten to have him killed if Thor does not come through. Suddenly the power of the hammer fills the room and as Thor is about to take the hammer, Collector shoots him and orders his men to chain him up with the body of the dead Dauterian....

Epilogue: A cloaked figure enters the Triskelion and approaches an imprisoned villain. The mystery man needs the prisoner's help but can only offer him a tribute. The prisoner is revealed to be Thanos, who has a tribute in mind....
