In the post war clean-up
of New York City, Dr. Kate Waynesboro leads a SHIELD team searching for Hulk’s
refugee Warbound when they suddenly uncover their targets: Korg and Brood
appear, fighting off the alligators that were about to attack Kate. Mysterious
tracking robots latch onto their signals and pursue. Korg and Brood carry Kate
off, disarming her on the way, and take her to where Hiroim tends to a severely
wounded Elloe Kaifi. Kate warns that her team will be following her while Elloe
begs to be left behind so the other three can escape but that is not the way of
the Warbound. They are discovered by soldiers and Hiroim uses his Old Power to
throw up a barrier. A green light shines from above, signaling use of
teleportation technology. The Warbound and Kate are sent elsewhere…
…to a desert but Hiroim is
missing. Kate denies that this is SHIELD’s doing and grabs her medical kit to
attend to Elloe’s injuries. Elloe makes empty threats but Kate knows she was
wounded throwing herself on her own people’s spears to stop a civil war. She
tries to assure the aliens that not every human is out to get them and then
they are surprised by soldiers, warning that they are in a restricted area. But
when they recognize the Warbound they open fire, Korg protecting Kate and Elloe
with his huge stone body….
Meanwhile, Hiroim is
prisoner at a mysterious factory where an unseen speaker suggests that he focus
his Old Power on his manacles which directed a massive amount of tectonic
energy away from the building…
…toward where the others
are facing the soldiers. Korg flees with Elloe, Brood seizes the soldiers’ guns
and flies off but Kate grabs onto her tail and is carried along. And then an
eerie green mist arises throughout the area for miles around. The Warbound
arrive at the deserted factory and discover Hiroim attached to the machines.
Ignoring Kate’s warning, Korg tears his comrade free but Hiroim can’t stop
emitting power which is being channeled by the generators in the room to make
the mists around form into a huge green dome, destroying anything touching it.
SHIELD ships are unable to damage it. And then the Leader appears to the
Warbound. “Isn’t it beautiful?”

Synopsis
SHIELD Agent Kate
Waynesboro arrives at the Negative Zone Prison where Dum Dum Dugan explains her
new assignment: getting the captive Miek to betray his comrades in Hulk’s
Warbound. Miek believes the Warbound betrayed Hulk by not letting him kill Miek
so Kate shifts her strategy, suggesting SHIELD has assigned her to kill the
Warbound and she wants Miek’s help in learning their weaknesses. He gladly
complies, telling the stories of his former comrades….
They start with Elloe
Kaifi; Kate suggests an appeal to her conscience. Miek relates how she was a
child of the Oligarchs on Sakaar, raised to believe in power. One night she
came upon a captive slave and freed it and it used its chemming power to locate
the others from its hive and when they were reunited, Elloe sounded the alarm
and the soldiers captured the renegade bugs; the bug who had been duped into
betraying its brethren was unhived, a disgrace. Miek suggests that appealing to
Elloe’s conscience is not the best choice….
