Synopsis / Summary / Plot

What If #3 Synopsis by Julio Molina-Muscara
In Avengers #2, Thor, Giant-Man, Iron Man, and the Wasp try stopping the Hulk as a group, after Jade Jaws left the Avengers. But, what if Thor, Giant-Man, and the Wasp decided not to remain as a team, despise of Iron Man's requests?

Iron Man and Rick Jones try convincing the Hulk to stop his rampages. But the armored hero is beaten. Later, Hulk faces Namor. But the duo decide to team and fight humanity, starting with the disbanded Avengers. Since the team was no more, Iron Man creates the "Armored Avengers", calling Rick Jones, Giant-Man, and the Wasp. But they were unable to successfully operate the armors. Iron Man overreacted frustration causing the new team to disband. So Super Can powers his armor to the maximum, and attacks the Hulk and the Sub-Mariner on his own. Rick convinces Giant-Man and the Wasp to help Iron Man. The other Armored Avengers arrive, but are defeated. To save Giant-Man's life, Iron Man transfers all his power to Henry Pym, and dies. Meanwhile, Hulk realizes that Rick is one of the armored heroes. Since Namor attacked him, Jade Jaws goes after the underwater prince. Both end up under water, and eventually split their short lasting union. Finally, the Armored Avengers see the lifeless Iron Man without his headgear and dedicate their lives to the hero's memory.
