Synopsis / Summary / Plot

Uncanny X-Men #307 Synopsis by Peter Silvestro

Story continued from AVENGERS WEST COAST #101.

In the mutate concentration camp beneath the streets of Genosha, Professor X tries to protect the innocent while Beast and USAgent take on the Magistrate Elite, the heavily-armed guards at the grim facility. To save lives, Professor X unleashes a bolt of psionic energy, disabling the guards but also revealing to Philip Moreau and Jennifer Ransome that he is also a mutant….

Far above, in the skies over Hammer Bay, Sersi is unleashing her powers against Exodus. The mutant villain responds with his psionic abilities and the clash of pure power creates a massive explosion over the city. Captain America and the other Avengers realize that such a violent confrontation is likely to destroy the city….

At the United Nations, Black Widow addresses the assembly telling them that "being an Avenger means having the courage to make the tough choices and the strength of conviction to act upon those choices," and they will stay out of politics from now on….

In the capitol, the X-Men invade the government HQ to discover scores of humans murdered by the mutate rebels.…

Outside, the force of the battle between Sersi and Exodus threatens to destroy the city. After a massive explosion, Sersi is missing and an arrogant Exodus flies off into the distance. As the Eternal emerges from the wreckage, Black Knight persuades her to abandon pursuit in order to spare the city….

Underground, Quicksilver and Jean Gray are searching for a way into Fabian Cortez’s underground complex. Jean’s psionic probe is thrown back at her and Quicksilver, leaping to her defense finds himself confronting his ex-wife Crystal and Scarlet Witch. Moments later, Cortez appears, holding the captive Luna, goading them into a fight. The villain reveals his bitterness at being supplanted in Magneto’s favor by Exodus and his plans to use Luna as insurance to keep himself alive. A sudden flash of light fills the underground chamber and announces his intention to eliminate the mad rebel leader. Cortez, however, threatens to harm Luna if the others do not destroy Exodus now….

Story concludes in AVENGERS #369.
