Story Name:

Fear Him: Chapter One

Synopsis

All-New Captain America: Fear Him #1 synopsis by Peter Silvestro
Rating: 3.5 stars

Prologue: The sinister Scarecrow drags his prey, a small-time crook, into an alley where he feasts on his victim’s fear….

Across the rooftops, the new Captain America pursues a pair of bank robbers using a zip-line to escape. Directed by Steve Rogers who is monitoring the adventure via computer from Avengers Mansion, Sam Cap takes to the air and disarms the crooks, also relieving them of their loot. When the two hoods come to the end of their line they are met by the new Nomad, Ian Rogers, who quickly takes them down (against Steve’s express orders) with his horde crusher (a weighted staff). While they are in contact with him, Steve and Sam hear Nomad’s voice suddenly cut off. He has been seized by Scarecrow; Ian strikes out rapidly with his weapon, smashing several of his opponent’s bones. But the Scarecrow, drawing the necessary strength from his victim’s fear, merely pops everything back in place and overpowers the hero. He tries to feed on Nomad’s fear but the visitor from Dimension Z is not afraid of him. The demented villain sees this as a challenge….

Cap flies to Ian’s last location to find him gone; he traces the missing man to the sewers….

Far away, Ian awakens in the sewer surrounded by crows, the Scarecrow determined to find something that scares him…..

Review / Commentaries

All-New Captain America: Fear Him #1 Review by (February 7, 2015)
Comments: Dennis Hopeless was assisted in the writing by regular Cap scribe Rick Remender.

Review: New miniseries looks interesting but it’s too soon to say anything about this yet. It’s promising, the idea of finding out what scares Ian Rogers, who as yet has had little character development. So I’ll wait to see what happens.
