The Red Death was the name given to a deadly blood-red, hideous vapor created in a war lab that was accidentally left free. The fatal pestilence causes their victim's skin to become crimson before passing away. The world was taken by storm without hope, except for a select few, eight people locked in a fortress devised for such an eventuality.
The owner, Rupert Griswold, a smart ruthless millionaire, whose lab created the pandemic threat, invited select personalities to live at his bunker. Besides ruthless businessmen like him, a beautiful movie actress name Carlotta Moore, another gorgeous young lady, and George Harris, the engineer who designed the impregnable building.
Rupert and his friends spent their days playing cards, wondering who would be named king in the world after the plague. Outside the walls, death ruled. Such immense tragedy didn't seem to affect anyone, except for Harris. He felt a great deal of guilt for not helping those who came knocking at the door, begging for safety. None were left in. All perished. Mocked by the others as the weak, the less provident.
Due to complains of boredom by Carlotta, Rupert organizes a costumes party. Harris presents himself in red rags with a skull-like mask, resembling the Red Death itself! When his disgusted neighbors strip him of his costume, they discover Harris is infected with the decease! Harris had disabled the air-filter, allowing everyone in to perish. He preferred a desolate planet than one ruled by such as them.
