Synopsis

Marvel versus DC / DC versus Marvel (1996 series) #3 synopsis by reviewer Peter Silvestro
Rating: 3 stars

Heroes from the two parallel universes continue to battle to see which world survives: Robin overcomes Jubilee, Silver Surfer defeats Green Lantern, Elektra takes down Catwoman. The homeless man tells Axel Asher that Axel is “Access,” the key to restoring the balance between the two universes, and unleashes his inner powers. Meanwhile, Wolverine clobbers Lobo, Storm beats Wonder Woman, Spider-Man decks Superboy, and, in an upset for Marvel fans, Superman just narrowly beats the Hulk into unconsciousness. Elsewhere Batman and Captain America are fighting to a draw when they come upon Axel and the homeless man. The latter informs them of the bad news: the glowing box is breaking down and the two Brothers are settling the contest in their own way; they are fusing themselves into one to create a new universe: the Amalgam.

Other pencilers: Claudio Castellini. Other inkers: Paul Neary. Large-scale team-up brings together the greatest heroes of the two major comics companies with the outcomes of all battles decided by a readers’ poll. Blame them for Hulk’s defeat. Story continues in Amalgam’s DR. STRANGEFATE #1.
