Marvel Universe vs the Avengers (2013 series) #4

Hawkeye has discovered that Doctor Doom is a cannibal and fights him; Doom explains that the entire human race is infected, the mutation is merely the next step in evolution and the Doomstones allow people to retain their intelligence and personalities. Hawkeye fires an explosive arrow, blowing apart Deadpool, and contacts the Avengers telling them that Doom has duped them. He escapes but Doom has a second surprise: he controls the Doomstones and is able to infect and turn the wearers, starting with Red Hulk. Fighting breaks out all over the city. Punisher and Black Widow, who have rescued Hawkeye, contact Black Panther and Reed Richards with news of the true nature of the Doomstones. They are advised, as the last Avengers, to avenge. To Black Widow this means destroying the Doomstones but to the Punisher this means killing as many as he can. They head out on their grim mission, which seems to be mostly killing. Iron Man is infected so his armor shuts down, trapping him inside for a slow death. Then Black Widow is carried off by Spider-Man, leaving just Clint and Frank Castle….

In Asgard, the gods look down on Earth and Loki pronounces a requiem for humanity—but Thor decides to return….

Punisher goes off on his own, leaving Hawkeye to take the final step of killing Doctor Doom. He confronts the villain in his lair and shoots him through the eye with an arrow tipped with one of Wolverine’s claws. As he walks through the city, Thor descends and kills him with a blow from Mjolnir. He was the last Avenger, leaving the Punisher to carry out his mission of slaughter….
