Thor: Where Walk the Frost Giants (2017 series) #1

An Asgardian warrior named Skarsgard is killed on a mission against the Frost Giants, sent by Tyr, left in charge of the realm by Odin. Thor questions Tyr's decision that cost a warrior his life and comforts his son Kallum, promising him that he will be a fine warrior someday. Thor then blows off a strategy meeting to go avenge his death. Missing him, the Warriors Three head off in pursuit....

Thor reaches the borders of Niffleheim and discovers a huge frost-generating engine spreading snow towards Asgard. Thor engages the Frost Giants in battle, backed up by his warrior buddies who arrive soon after. The Giants blow the heroes into a glacier and take them prisoner. Frost Giant King Ymir sends a message to Tyr, informing him that Thor is a captive who will be killed unless Tyr surrenders....

But it turns out that young Kallum stowed away in Volstagg's saddlebag and he is small enough to slip through the bars of the dungeon and he frees Thor and the others. While the Warriors Three face the Giant army, Thor (with Kallum) sets out to destroy the frost machine. Thor ends up facing Ymir himself and Kallum is wounded but the arrival of a shower of fireballs announces the arrival of Tyr and the army of Asgard. The baddies are routed, the machine is destroyed, and both Thor and Tyr learn some sort of lesson. Happy ending.
