Rating: 4 stars

Follows CAPTAIN AMERICA #400

Shi’ar Majestrix Lilandra orders the death of the Kree Starforce assassins but the Avengers beg to differ. Lilandra places the Earth heroes under house arrest but the hotheaded Thor fights back and a battle between the Avengers and the Imperial Guard ensues. The two sets of heroes are evenly matched and it ends when Living Lightning, fed up with the anti-Earth rhetoric of Lord Chamberlin Araki, blasts the old man with a bolt. Araki is then revealed to be a Skrull in disguise, stirring up war between the Shi’ar and Kree. Ultimus is sent back to the Kree homeworld to report on this latest development but Lilandra is unable to recall the missing Nega-Bomb….

Meanwhile on Earth, a brooding Spider-Woman is being watched by a trio of arachnid-themed villains. Wonder-Man and Vision ride the Nega-Bomb to the stargate and Quasar reports to the Avengers that he has located it….

Review / Commentaries

Avengers West Coast #82 Review by (March 21, 2014)
Review: A continuation of THOR #446: another big battle involving the Avengers and the Imperial Guard, only this time they are on opposite sides. This time however the story moves ahead: it’s the Skrulls! Nice twist, if not unexpected (see THOR #445 for the big hint). The epic as a whole? One of the best multi-comic crossovers, marked by a complex story, tight plotting, strong characterization, and consistent quality. And it actually tries to mean something in the end!

Comments: Part 16 of Operation Galactic Storm.
