Continued
from CAPTAIN AMERICA #750.
Captain America and Winter Soldier prepare to take on the Outer Circle:
Bucky
takes his place at the Circle’s table and announces they have come to the end
of the game. The Love concurs, noting that none of them have a chance, the
Revolution (Bucky) wins. And she withdraws….
Captain
America, Destroyer (Sharon Carter) and the new Nomad (Redacted) dive into the
Outer Circle’s flying stronghold, fighting their way through the band of
villains hired for the OC’s protection. And then they reach hundreds of robotic
soldiers created by The Machine. They attack against all odds but suddenly a
portal opens and Nomad (Ian Rogers) emerges, leading an army of werewolves….
The
Machine abandons her “meatspace” body and returns to her consciousness in a
giant one-eyed, tentacled machine. She confronts Cap, referring to her rebel
son, Daniel Agboje, creator of the shield, and announces she will destroy the
place with Cap in it. Cap hurls the shield, shattering the great glass eye, and
it shuts her down, with a message from her son, “Hello, Mother, and Goodbye.”
With her death, the entire fortress starts to break down. The Money is killed
by the white cat, Alpine. The fortress crashes to Earth, Cap and Bucky linking
up. They confront The Power, with Bucky prepared to shoot him while Cap tries
to dissuade him, mirroring the standoff with The Revolution in CAPTAIN AMERICA:
SENTINEL OF LIBERTY #5. But this time, Bucky has a better idea. They capture
The Power and turn him over to his greatest enemy in the world: Doctor Doom….
Back
home, Steve and Sharon are on their way to dinner when Amari, who idolizes Steve
comes in, happy to see Steve is all right. In a three-page spread matching the
opening of CAPTAIN AMERICA: SENTINEL OF LIBERTY #1, Steve jogs around Brooklyn,
secure in his belief that he finally knows himself….
