Captain America and the Korvac Saga #2 Synopsis by Peter Silvestro

In a New York City jail, Captain America confronts the Guardians of the Galaxy, who announce that they are there to take Korvac with them. Cap defies them, insisting that the criminal face justice for his crimes on Earth. They merely push him out of the way, take Korvac from his cell and open a portal in the air. Korvac responds by suddenly transforming into a glowing, more powerful figure and releases his henchmen, restoring their weapons, and sending them to battle the interlopers. The transformed villain steps through the portal and vanishes. Captain America leaps after him, followed by Nikki and Firelord of the Guardians, just as the portal closes. Cap finds himself falling through space…

…then awakens on a desert world with spaceships zooming overhead. Nikki and Firelord explain that Cap has been transported one thousand years into his future—and the portal has been sealed by the villain, trapping him there forever. They tell him Korvac is a cyborg, wanted for plotting genocide, and the Guardians traced it to the early 21st century…. Suddenly Korvac appears and attacks, surprising the Guardians with its newfound power. It is able to defeat Firelord, who wields the Power Cosmic and leaves. The future heroes deduce that Korvac must also now possess the Power Cosmic, the only source of which is Galactus, Devourer of Worlds. The only weapon against the Power is the Ultimate Nullifier, which is kept aboard the Taa II, Galactus’ own dwelling, a warship so large it has pulled planets into its orbit. Cap is ready to go there….
