Strange finds Bruce Banner in a New Mexico desert where he's been hiding and guilt-trips him into helping. Strange then visits Namor who is equally reluctant and does the same. He tries convincing the Silver Surfer who chooses to stay on the beach with his new friends - "real" surfers.

Banner and Namor meet Strange at the Sanctum Sanctorum where they bicker until Strange teleports them to Dormammu's domain. The wall that separates it from the land of the Mindless Ones had been moved so while Namor and Strange are on the safe side, the Hulk is outside battling the Mindless Ones. The issue ends as Dormammu's army is mystically teleported to their location and attacks them.

Defenders, The (2005 series) #1 Review by (February 15, 2010)
This mini-series is collected in the trade, "Defenders: Indefensible," and is written as a laugh-out-loud parody of the characters and their relationships. Artist Keith Giffen participated in the script.
