The Maestro has little problem defeating each and every one of the Exiles until Proteus, in the body of the 2099 Hulk, grabs the Maestro from behind and breaks his neck*
Morph attacks the 2099 Hulk but loses his metal implant; without a second thought, Proteus leaves the 2099 Hulk's body to possess Morph. Extremely satisfied with his new host, and not needing to possess the Maestro, Proteus escapes to another reality.
