Synopsis

Fall of the Hulks: Alpha (2010 series) #1 synopsis by Julio M2
Rating: 4 stars

Years ago, using a temporal shifter, a group of the smartest villains composed of the Leader, the Wizard, EggHead, the Mad Thinker and the Red Ghost, self-called the Intelligencia, infiltrated Olympia, home of the Eternals, undetected, to get texts and artifacts that belonged to the famous Library of Alexandria. Those items possessed invaluable knowledge that they could use to their advantage. They stored those texts in Doctor Doom’s Latveria, a proper place to safeguard them.

After EggHead’s demise, the Leader brought MODOK to their team, and finished the search of the Alexandrian texts in Wakanda and Atlantis. But then, Doom attacked his teammates and kept the library for himself.

Previously, MODOK studied the texts. Looking to create a weapon against his enemies, he discovered how to combine cosmic rays with gamma rays to create a powerful creature. Thus, they conceived the Red Hulk when military satellites shot the (green) Hulk at the end of the World War Hulk event.

Note: during one of the Intelligencia missions, the Leader stole the body of Betty Ross.

Fall of the Hulks: Alpha (2010 series) #1 Review by (February 15, 2010)
An interesting explanation of why these super villains were always so resourceful, using advanced technologies against the super heroes.
